Rimmel - Lets Get Nude

I'm always partial to the odd #notd post, if you're anything like me I'm always painting and re-painting my nails, in fact there's never really a time that I have nothing on, even if it's a nude so I thought I'd share a new discovery of mine. I hold my hands up - I've never owned a higher end nail polish and have no real intention to either, the drugstore options are more than enough to keep me going, plus they're so affordable!

If you'd asked me a year or two about nude nail polish, my opinion was if you can't tell you're wearing it there's no point to putting it on, that opinions changed safe to say. This particular nail polish 'Lets get Nude' is one of Rimmels 60 seconds formula from the Rita Ora range and is super cheap around the £3 mark. All of the shades in the range have quirky names which I really like, a fairly good sized bottle and a nice applicator brush which is always a bonus. 

The nail polish once applied is exactly what it says on the tin, I'm pale and it was a shade darker than my skin colour so the perfect match. It made my nails look lovely and glossy, now I didn't manage to get a really good picture when they were freshly painted but I am wearing it in the above photo and it shows how nice a colour it really is. This is the first nude colour that I've really loved on my nails and with the whole nude lip thang going on because of Kylie Jenner I can see me rocking the nude nail look instead.

 It's just made me want to expand my nude collection more than anything.... and it'll be perfect for work and summer, rocking a black nail or bright yellow although pretty don't exactly scream professional and my nails can still be protected somewhat. The lasting power is also quite impressive as I'd been wearing it around 4-5 days before chipping and that includes working (aka destroying my nails) so I'm quite pleased with this one and can't wait to collect a few more!

#NOTD

A nails of the day post I haven't done in a while & lately I've been moving out of my comfort zone, since its so gloomy, I mean summery outside, I thought I'd go for a much brighter option than usual but still nude. For years I never even thought about white nail polish because if I'm honest it just reminded me of secondary school whenever everyone painted Tipp Ex on their nails and that trend just shouldn't be repeated so I avoided it at all costs. 

We all know dodgy hand selfies aren't my forte so sorry :) 

I was looking through my collection for something that wasn't bright pink or green or coral or blue  (you get the picture) but a nude colour and I came across Easy Going - its from the Sinful Colours nail polish collection and I'd forgotten all about it. The most annoying thing about lighter coloured nail polish is that they require so many coats and are usually a pain to get off but this time I just thought why not try it. It only takes two coats to become opaque (although I used three for good measure) and the brush is really easy to apply with. Its not a white polish as such but a muted pinky creme (more pink) and I was surprised that I actually really liked it. 

Now the Sinful Colour nail polishes are wonderful and I've raved about my favourite colour Vacation Time for ages, it was probably one of my first posts on my blog and for good reason. I haven't came across a colour that has disappointed me from the range, all of them having great staying power, not chipping in the slightest and for £1.99 they're the cheapest nail polishes I own and probably my favourite. Theres no point in spending more money and breaking the bank when these tick all the boxes for me and have a fantastic colour range. If you haven't tried any of the Sinful Colour nail polishes, you should definitely have a look next time you're in Boots.

Perfect Nudes

The other day I surprisingly made the discovery that I have no nude shades in my lipstick stash, now I know bolds and brights win over nude lips but I never thought I'd disowned them completely. With this in mind I practically ran towards my nearest Boots and low and behold the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks were having a bit of an offer so I selected my two favourite shades and suddenly felt a lot better about myself. I'm not too keen on barely noticeable nudes but just something thats a little more of a 'my lips but better' colour and luckily thats exactly what this is!  

Another shock to my system was that although I absolutely love the Kate Moss matte lipstick range I'd never owned any from the original Kate Moss line, shock horror! This particular shade '03' I've fallen in love with however, its as I said a my lips but better colour and a slightly peachy/brown nude which is quite different for me all together. The formula is creamy and moisturising and not drying in the slightest and I also like the fact that the packaging is the same as the matte lipsticks with the signature Kate logo.

The only downside is that the packaging is black like every other lipstick in my drawer nearly and so its hard to recognise in my collection - the bright red matte packaging is a lot more noticeable, maybe if they even brought out lighter packaging for the spring or summer months that would be nice. The lipstick however I can see no wrong with and I'm sure I'll pick a couple more up from the range soon enough. Also what do you think about the background, yay or nay? I quite like the white backgrounds on things but I get quite bored, how does anyone else feel about it?
