2015 Essentials Wishlist

15 January 2015
It feels like its been a while since I've sat and made a new post, what can I say this past week has been an absolute whirlwind and I haven't had any time to sleep let alone blog but I've given myself a good old slap on the wrist and I'm positive that it won't happen again - at least two times a week is the aim for now. I'm actually writing this via free train wifi on the way to Uni, it's usually unreliable but for now its holding up so hope you enjoy this little wishlist of mine :)

As of Monday this week I'm back to commuting daily meaning long train journeys and very early mornings, sounds great right? I commuted to uni in first year which is roughly the same journey but I wasn't prepared at all so now I'm determined to be.

An essential for any early start is a good concealer and lately all of my own aren't cutting it, now I rarely get the odd bag under my eyes and then I'd have a long rest and it'f gone so since I've been waking up early (5am for five days straight) I can really notice the prominent dark circles and I'm not liking it at all. I really need a good heavy duty concealer and I've been eyeing up the nars creamy concealer for a while so when I asked on Twitter for a few recommendations I ended up with a bunch including benefit and Estée Lauder.

I definitely have a neutral theme going on at the minute, nude lips & blushes and I'm embracing it. I convinced myself I needed new lipsticks for work and we all know Mac is the place to go for colour range so I might treat myself to a nude lipstick (oh and one of their lip liners). Nars also do some amazing products but sadly I've never tried any of them so that's going to change in 2015, I really want to try one of their lip pencils and of course the infamous blushes are high up on the wishlist. Stila also has a few lovely shades in their colour convertible range and this shade I've just fallen for - it's a bit of an unusual one for me but still stunning.

The following may be a little boring but these are the travel essentials, headphones because no journey is complete without an iPod, sadly mine have given up in one of the ears so I'll have to pick up another pair as soon as. Also I've a lot more to travel with and charge so a portable charger seems blooming ideal for my iPod, iPad, iphone, you name it so it seems pretty important and I'm surprised I don't own one of these already. Next I really want to update my iPad cover and iPhone case, every few months you just need a little switch up so I'm on the look out for a few so if anyone can recommend any pretty ones, please send links my way. Lastly an umbrella is a must, if you know northern irish weather it's bloody unpredictable and 95% of the time it rains - I've lost count of how many umbrellas I've actually gone through, I've such bad luck with them!

As for fashion bits and bobs scarves are my best friend at this time of year and luckily I've built up quite a collection of scarves and cuddly jumpers (usually baggy) but hats not so much. A bobble hat on a bad hair day or even just a cold day is a life saver and I've got so much use out of mine lately but I've only one colour so I really want to pick a few up before they're gone for another year. Lastly solid boots are a must, I don't want wet socks from walking through too many puddles, ew. All of these are pretty sensible choices for me and would you look at that only half of the things mentioned are beauty related, I'm learning! Hope you enjoyed reading this one and I promise I won't leave it weeks before posting again :)

Dear Santa: Wishlist

24 December 2014
Blogmas Day 24, Dear Santa Christmas Wishlist, JennysEverydayLife
From time to time I love a good wishlist and whats better than making one at Christmas time, I think its a habit of mine to make really unrealistic and blooming long lists, did anyone else ever cut out half the Argos book for Santa just because it looked pretty? Well at least I'm older and they're a bit better than what they were (well I try) but this is still a hefty wishlist and I wouldn't even expect half of it, not to mention it would probably give my parents a heart attack! I still thought I'd publish it on here because I love reading wishlists and getting some inspiration for my own, so I hope it helps.

Of course theres some makeup bits and pieces on there like a Nars blush, their foundation and concealer mainly because I couldn't justify buying myself it through the year, a MAC lipstick to add to my collection, MAC Fix+ because I've heard so many good things, a paintpot because one is not enough and a replacement of my Studio Fix. Theres also some lip crayons from Soap&Glory, there is an actual set including three that you can buy but I couldn't find the link for it. I think that's pretty good on the makeup side of things. I did also mention the Zoeva brushes which are stunning and would look amazing, hint hint on my dressing table.

I also included a lot of miscellaneous items like fairy lights for my room because I can never find any that don't resemble Christmas tree lights, a diary and organiser for the new year, socks as I'm forever losing mine - I swear someone steals them, a watch in brown and black - just plain staple ones that'll go with everything and still look pretty, some jewellery (maybe) and a phone case for my iphone 5 because again I can never find any that I like.

Also some perfume is a lovely stocking filler and this year I'm hoping that I get One Directions You and I perfume and Christian Dior's J'adore - both smell incredible. Whilst we're on nice smelling things anything from Lush is a lovely gift or even Soap and Glory too. I did ask for the Emma Hardie cleansing balm which was in a set and almost half its usual price, a pair of GHD's (there a long time investment ;)), a Zara City Bag and some Disney DVD's.

As I said at the start I would never expect even half of this but these are things on a very long list of things I would like and I'll probably buy myself them throughout the new year but I just thought I'd share as it might give others a late idea of what they want.

Thanks for reading, Jenny xo

Skincare Wishlist #1

20 August 2014
Skincare is something that I always tend to neglect, I mean I just don't know where to start, what would work, what brands to go to, the lot. It's all a little overwhelming and if I'm honest a simple moisturiser, the odd spot cream and frequent face masks seems to keep my skin in good condition although I know thats probably the worst attitude to take oops. Skincare is something I'd love to get in to & so I made a skincare wishlist (bar one or two odd ones) from a range of brands below.

origins drink up intensive mask, origins clear improvement charcoal mask, origins GinZing energy boosting moisturiser, the body shop camomile cleansing butter, emma hardie cleansing balm, clinque take the day off cleansing balm, dr jart+ bb cream, nuxe reiv de miel, the body shop body butters, bioderma, la roche possay effaclair duo+, liz earle cleanse & polish, indeed labs hydraluron, review, pictures, wishlist, skincare

I've heard nothing but great things about Origins as a whole, but especially their face masks so I'd like to try a few such as the Drink Up Intensive Mask, the Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask & of course the GinZing Energy boosting moisturiser as heading into the winter months I think I'll need a few more face masks for my collection. Also recently I bought The Body Shops Cleansing Butter (stay tuned for a review) but for ages (read: months) I've wanted to try a few higher end alternatives too such as the famous Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm and the Clinque Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm.

Although the summers nearly through I've been quite liking BB creams and this Dr Jart+ BB cream sounds wonderful, that and the Nuxe Reiv de Miel are the more makeup/skincare items on my wishlist as a good lip balm is absolutely essential in the colder autumn and winter months - no one likes dry lips! The body shop body butters are also something that I haven't got round to trying as of yet so I'd really like to try them out too.

Now micellar waters have been having a moment over the past few months or so but somehow I haven't got round to trying the original micellar water, Bioderma, which I really should have by now! The La Roche Possay Effaclair Duo+, Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish and Indeed Labs Hydraluron are also on my to buy list. These are all beauty bloggers favourites and with nothing but positive reviews I think its about time I got round to trying a few of them out for myself.

Birthday Wishlist

10 June 2014
Its crazy to believe that this time next week I'll no longer be a teenager and although I can't exactly change my birthday I keep wishing it was later on in the year, or next year or the year after! I'm definitely going to miss being a teenager and although everyone I know (who're turning 21) say that it feels no different, its still another year older and another year where I definitely don't look my age (16 if at best). Therefore I thought it'd be really fun to make a birthday wishlist, this was my first time using Polyvore and it was a bundle of fun to create.

As it was my first wishlist I kind of just added everything to it, I would by no means even expect a quarter of this stuff (if I won the lottery maybe) and I'd be grateful to even receive two or three things as most of them are pretty pricey.

For I don't know how long I've been lusting over many of these, especially the Zara bag, the YSL rouge volupte lipsticks, the Nars sheer glow foundation and of course the coveted Nars blushes. Unluckily for me there are no Nars counters where I live and therefore I don't anything from the brand :( In keeping with makeup counters unavailable to me, I've wanted to try Nyx cosmetics for goodness knows how long but since its not readily available I'll have to wait for the day I eventually if ever get the opportunity to go to America.

Being the beauty lover that I am, most of my list is beauty based but what can I say.... I like makeup. Mac MSF in 'soft and gentle' is probably thee most talked about highlighter to date and I can't believe I haven't bought it already but that and some Mac lipsticks are definitely on my wishlist, in fact any lipsticks are my weakness. I wouldn't mind any Topshop lipsticks or the Revlon Matte balms which I've fallen in love with. All three lip products are absolutely amazing! I probably do need some brighter nail varnishes for the summer and I thought, why have I not tried anything from both Essie and Topshop before.... might as well. Lastly I've been lusting over the Naked Basics palette, I have a thing for mattes and nudes so what could be better, plus it looks the perfect size for putting in your handbag.

Then theres a few miscellaneous things like a cover for my iPad mini or some midi rings to complete the odd outfit or two and last but not least a chocolate birthday cake, being the chocoholic that I am with the perfect excuse.... now that I'm old it'll soon enough be impossible to fit all the candles on the cake!

P.s why not leave a comment below on what you've been lusting over recently? I actually really enjoyed this post! Let me know if you'd want to see more of these or not?
