Since its a new month & all that, I decided I'd try a few new things such as a spending ban.... probably not my best idea but hey! I'm usually quite good with money but I just want to see how much I spend on things that I don't really need, but think I do. Apart from the odd thing like going for dinner with my friends every month or something (which is a bit of an ocassion) I've budgeted for everything and I'm going to try my best to stick to it!
I knew that if I had a unrealistic ban like three months or the entire summer I would definitely break within a week, no one has that much will power especially with new beauty releases every week! Therefore I decided I'd try it for a month, not too long a time to make me give in but not too short a time that I won't notice the difference in my bank account. It'll also give me some extra money to buy things at Christmas etc which I wouldn't have had otherwise.
If I do need any necessities I'll have to buy them like shampoo or conditioner but aside from that I'm really going to be strict with myself - that means no nice AW14 clothes for a whole month :( Its slightly annoying that everyone else will be splurging with their new student loans and I won't be able to spend a penny but it'll work out better for me in the long run. In about a month I'll probably update and say whether I could stick to it or not (fingers crossed).
Have any of you tried a spending ban? Did you set aside money for certain things or is this something you'd try in the future? I know lots of people had a summer spending ban but I don't think I could cope lol! Let me know :)

DeleteYou have my respect! I'm generally pretty good with money, but I don't think I could do an all out ban! I have started planning my purchases a bit though, and won't buy anything outwith that (no impulse purchases in other words!) Good luck!
