#NOTD

A nails of the day post I haven't done in a while & lately I've been moving out of my comfort zone, since its so gloomy, I mean summery outside, I thought I'd go for a much brighter option than usual but still nude. For years I never even thought about white nail polish because if I'm honest it just reminded me of secondary school whenever everyone painted Tipp Ex on their nails and that trend just shouldn't be repeated so I avoided it at all costs. 

We all know dodgy hand selfies aren't my forte so sorry :) 

I was looking through my collection for something that wasn't bright pink or green or coral or blue  (you get the picture) but a nude colour and I came across Easy Going - its from the Sinful Colours nail polish collection and I'd forgotten all about it. The most annoying thing about lighter coloured nail polish is that they require so many coats and are usually a pain to get off but this time I just thought why not try it. It only takes two coats to become opaque (although I used three for good measure) and the brush is really easy to apply with. Its not a white polish as such but a muted pinky creme (more pink) and I was surprised that I actually really liked it. 

Now the Sinful Colour nail polishes are wonderful and I've raved about my favourite colour Vacation Time for ages, it was probably one of my first posts on my blog and for good reason. I haven't came across a colour that has disappointed me from the range, all of them having great staying power, not chipping in the slightest and for £1.99 they're the cheapest nail polishes I own and probably my favourite. Theres no point in spending more money and breaking the bank when these tick all the boxes for me and have a fantastic colour range. If you haven't tried any of the Sinful Colour nail polishes, you should definitely have a look next time you're in Boots.

Lilac Loving

So the internet decided it would be a great time to play up, right smack back in the middle of my challenge but that just means double updates for today and tomorrow. All of my posts were ready to go and it was so frustrating because I just couldn't press publish #bloggingnightmare. Therefore this is the first post of a few, lilac must be my colour for spring it seems, I just can't enough of it and it seemed fitting that it was on my nails as well.  

This Miss Sporty nail polish was found unloved in the back of my drawer and so I thought it was only right that I used it right away. I don't own a lot of things from Miss Sporty and I'm too sure as to why, they're ever so cheap and the products that I have used are always of good quality so this may need to be fixed. This lilac is a lovely colour, bright but not too bright and although I painted my nails at the start of the week I've seen no chipping and its lasted a lot better than the majority of my other nail polishes. I can't believe its only £1.99, definitely a little bargain and I think there might be a buy one, get the second half price offer going on on the range in Superdrug at the minute, sooo worth checking out. 

Also I'd like to apologise for the quality of these photos, not my finest work but its been so dreary over the past few days taking photographs in natural light has been an absolute nightmare. Anyways, what colours have you been loving on your nails as of late?

#NOTD

I love a good hashtag who doesn't and somehow when I'm on Instagram this is one of the hashtags that catches my interest the most. I love scrolling through and seeing the nail art, designs and colours everyones using at the minute and mainly to get some inspiration for my own. 

I'm not big on the whole false nails thing and usually just stick to painting so I'm constantly changing my colour and I'm ashamed to say my nail polish collection has grown a lot in the past year or two as a result. I guess it's a good and a bad thing. The nail polish I have on at the minute, I've just fallen head over heels in love with the colour. Since I'm quite pale at the moment I've been trying to put off the pastels for a tanner day and reach for brighter Spring colours instead and this is just that. 

NYC is a brand stocked in Superdrug which is primarily aimed at younger makeup lovers, is incredibly cheap and up until now I hadn't really paid much attention to their products. This nail polish in the shade 'Lincoln Square Lavender" is a part of their "in a New York colour minute" collection and since I purchased it I think they've changed the packaging around a little. I've had this on for at least 3 days now with absolutely no chipping, the colour was opaque after one coat showing just how good this little bottle is as I can't say that about a lot of nail polish brands but I painted two coasts just as a precaution and I love it. 

For something so cheap, less than £2 I think and for 10ml of polish I'm pleasantly surprised and in this shade I'll definitely be stocking up on a few more to last me the summer. I can see this being on my nails alot. If you've tried anything from the NYC stand let me know, I love getting recommendations :)

NOTD featuring Illamasqua

Well now that Spring has officially sprung I decided it was time to change up my nail polish collection, storing those grey, purple, blacks and maroons that haven't been off my nails through autumn and winter in the back of the drawer for something more suitable like pastels and brights.

A few weeks ago in my Illamasqua Mini Haul (link here) I picked up this beautiful lime green colour in the shade "Radium" and I love it so much already, its definitely the perfect shade for this time of year. To my surprise and as you can see in the first couple of photos the colour blends in with the green wall in my bedroom.. what a bonus ehhh!

The packaging is the traditional Illamasqua style which I always love as both the black and gold colours give it a classy and sophisticated look. Now before talking about the nail polish itself I should probably excuse my strange hand selfies that I keep taking but they're all for your benefit in the long run :) In the photo however I am wearing two coats of the polish, it only really needs one but I always wear two of every polish just in case. I was able to wear this for days without chipping which is great since I usually do within a few days. It also makes it ten times better that I picked this little treat up in the sale for around £5 instead of its original price of £14.50 and 15ml should keep me going for ages as its well over the ordinary amount of nail polish so no complaints!

I know this is a short one but has anyone else tried any Illamasqua nail polish? Or could recommend any spring/summer shades?
