A Year On: Happy First Birthday!

1 January 2015
A year tomorrow it'll be my blogging one year anniversary and although that might not seem like a long time or I might not post as regularly as I would like to its still a massive achievement in my books. A year ago I didn't have a clue about blogging and looking back at my very first post it was all about the new year, me starting my blogging journey and some resolutions chucked in for good measure and it was great to look back on a year later and see how well (or badly) I'd done. I thought I'd actually write a few again for 2015....

Some people dread a New Year, some people are eager to start a New Year fresh and I'm usually happy to ring in a new year even if it means leaving behind a wonderful year. This year however I'm more than happy for 2015, it's going to be a big year - for a start my brother turns 18, I turn 21, this will definitely be the year I start driving, I have a job and placement and in September I'll be starting my final year at University which is a really scary thought and we might move house in amongst all of that. You can see its all systems go! I might even sneak in some travelling around the UK, sadly I won't be able to go further a field because I'll have no time off but I'm hoping the summer I graduate, so 2016 I'll be able to treat myself and go somewhere spectacular, we'll see, thats a long while off yet.

Last year I made resolutions that I more or less kept up throughout the year, except maybe the exercising but I'd the excuse, I didn't own a pair of trainers yet yesterday I went out and bought myself some so I might work on that this year. I definitely took enough photos to last me a life time and I got a lot of them printed/developed so I now have several photo albums full to look back on in future years - something that I think gets forgotten about for social media. Also I did learn to not stress as much and be happier with life and its an attitude I'm going to try and keep going.

As for blogging for a year I'd just like to say a massive thank you to anyone who follows me on Twitter, Instagram, Bloglovin or GFC - it really does mean the world and those lovely little comments I wake up and see really do make my day so thanks! I've taken part in countless bbloggers chats and everyone in the blogging community is unbelievably nice and welcoming - I've just passed 650 followers which is a bit hard to comprehend but its amazing. I don't post too regularly so thanks for sticking with me when I do and I always feel like I'm chatting to friends. I'd love to actually attend blogging events but living where I do its a bit hard - even meeting other bloggers near me would be great in 2015! We'll see what happens but I just wanted to say thank you a lot for supporting me, my little piece of the internet and just being all round lovely. I can't wait to see what 2015 has in store!

Thanks for reading, Jenny xo
P.s what new resolutions have you for the New Year?

My 100th Blog Post!

2 October 2014
It's crazy to think that this is my 100th post on Jenny's Everyday Life! At the start of January this year when I first started blogging I really hadn't got to grips with the whole thing, I wasn't sure what content I'd post, when I'd post and probably the most important thing, natural lighting, what a lost cause I was, but now eight months down the line I sort of know what I'm doing and posts aren't too few and far between, thank goodness. I've loved having blogging as a hobby & creative outlet to share my interests, I now have a proper blogging schedule and I'm posting (content that I'm proud of, quality over quantity any day) maybe two, three times a week, which isn't too bad for having a social life on the side.

Its definitely been a positive experience so far, I've talked to people all over the world, improved my writing skills and photography, gained a new found confidence and had tonnes of fun along the way. It's amazing looking back at some of my early posts and seeing how much my writing/photography has changed in such a short space of time. Also I know its been said time and time again but the beauty blogging community is oh so welcoming and I've felt right at home especially on a Sunday night on twitter during the #bbloggers chat, something I didn't know about in the beginning.... and well, I was seriously missing out!

I spend a heck of a lot of time prepping for posts whether it be photos or content (you'd think I'd have it down to a tee by now but no) and I'm constantly trying to better my little piece of the internet, long train journeys and free wifi are key. Over the months I've tried blogging everyday for a month, a spending ban and taking little breaks away and coming back as inspired as ever and I've loved them all. I do try to incorporate a little bit of lifestyle into my blog as well so that I can look back on it in another eight months - I haven't done any OOTD posts just yet or ventured into the scary world of Youtube but who knows what the next eight months will bring.

I also just want to add, real quick, (I have a tendency to ramble, I'm sorry) a massive thank you to everybody who regularly reads my blog or comments - they make my day and its so nice to hear feedback. Also thank you if you follow my blog via Bloglovin', GFC, or even my twitter, if you'd have asked me back at the start of the year how many followers I'd have I'd have said 50 max, not close to 600 so thank you :) I've loved the past seven/eight months and can't wait until I reach my 200th blog post, 300th, 400th, you get the picture :) Its been such a lovely experience so far and I hope to make plenty of new friends and have a few more wonderful experiences by then. Also please let me know what sort of thinks you like/dislike/suggestions on my blog and I can work towards these too!

Thanks for sticking with me & thanks for reading, Jenny xo
P.s don't hesitate to leave comments or talk to me on twitter, I love talking to new people :)

Just a little thank you!

6 February 2014

Instead of posting a normal post I thought I would write something a little bit different - for the past few days I've been busy with University and haven't been constantly checking this.... for once. Therefore when I signed in earlier today and checked my emails to see that I had reached 120 Followers on Bloglovin' and 7 on Google Friend Connect I was in complete shock - happy shock nonetheless. Thank you all! This may not seem like a huge number but considering I thought I'd have like 5 followers, it means an awful awful lot.

Therefore this is just a little post to show my appreciation to those who follow, comment and just in general chat to me. I've only had my blog for a month and it's crazy to think so many people have read my ramblings or who have spent their time reading through my posts. I've also seen so many lovely comments on my blog which I love reading through and which genuinely make my day. The blogging community is just so welcoming and friendly and I'm happy that my little blog and myself are now a part of it.

I have a habit of writing terribly long posts so I'll try and be quick - I just want to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone, it means a lot that you support me and my blog. This being my first blogging milestone means its something really special but who knows I might reach another in the future. I love you all :)

Thanks for reading, Jenny xo
