Wet 'n Wild Bits and Pieces

11 August 2014
Ever since starting blogging I've had a shopping list as long as my arm to buy if I ever end up in America or Canada or such, very unlikely that it'll happen anytime soon but I can hope! There's so many brands I'd love to try such as Nyx, Wet 'n Wild and Covergirl etc and strangely enough when I was in Dublin of all places the other day I came across a Wet 'n Wild stand, surprised was not the word and I of course picked up a few things so I thought I'd haul them and mini review.

The ever so famous Walking On Eggshells palette was top on my to get list but unfortuntely it was the only one that they didn't have, talk about popular and so instead I opted for the Sweet As Candy palette or trio. I also love the fact that these eyeshadows have the letters embellished in them telling you where to apply e.g browbone and crease. The first browbone eyeshadow is a lovely shimmery champage highlight, the second is a pinky shade for all over the lid, normally I steer well clear of pinks but I thought I could mix things up a little and the crease colour is a mid toned brown - not too light not too dark so I can't wait to try them out.

The second and third things that I picked up were two of their lipsticks, I'll be honest I just liked the colours and they were less than £2 (euro conversion rates can be confusing) so with prices like that I wasn't exactly breaking the bank. The two I bought were 'Mauve Outta Here' and 'Rose-bud', Mauve is more of a pinky purple colour (I'm definitely not brave enough to wear bright purple lipstick) and Rosebud is just a pinky red and I'm sure they'll both be getting much use in the next couple of weeks. I can't wait to try them out for real and when I do I'll fill you in :)

P.s have you tried anything from Wet 'n Wild?

Dublin & the Temple Bar

9 August 2014
If you keep up to date with me on Twitter you'll know yesterday I was abruptly woken at 8:15 & given an hour to get ready and leave the house - that is if I wanted to go to Dublin for the day & of course that was a yes! I love city atmospheres and although I live in Belfast 'the capital city' it still isn't big enough for me, that's why when I get the chance of heading to a bigger city like Dublin, London and Glasgow I jump at it. I'm a city girl at heart, can't you tell?

I've lost count how many bridges are along the river bank, I must have walked over at least four that I thought were the same.

Everywhere I looked there were gorgeous and colourful hanging flowers which honestly brightened up the streets so much. I also loved the cobbled streets, it gives so much character to the place.

I of course had to take a standard photo drinking - I swear its not mine ;) in the Temple Bar, my mum took this photo and the lighting is terrible and I look whiter than white #palegirlproblems but what can you do.

This was one of the five or six shopping centres that I ventured into but it was definitely the most unique. It looked like a massive greenhouse and the white and green pastel colour scheme was right up my street. I also quite liked the massive clock in the centre of the mall and just how light and airy it is.

We also found a cute park right in the centre of Dublin, ponds, swans, ducks, the lot and it was a nice place to stop and rest our feet for a bit in between shops and exploring. I thought this picture was adorable too, the ducks are so so tiny!

I'm so jealous that they have trams going through the city centre, they're such a fun way to travel around the place and so easy to just jump on and off as you please.

Dublin is definitely the closest 'big city' to me (about 2 hours by train/coach) and dare I say it I'm becoming quite a regular. These are the few snaps that I took throughout the day, it was a mild day weather wise but I just wish it had of been a bit sunnier - it would have made all the difference in the pictures. I love the whole exploring new places and I took a whole variety of photo to look back on. It just shows late minute plans are sometimes the best!

P.s have any of you been travelling lately or fallen in love with any new places?

& My Days Been Made

8 August 2014
I wasn't planning on posting today, its a little bit of a curve ball but once this email popped up in my inbox earlier I knew I wouldn't be able to stop myself. Its pretty easy to click on to the daily mass of emails, have a read, see if something catches your eye & then leave them again but this afternoon Bloglovin' sent me a lovely message saying that my blog had just reached 400 followers and I knew I'd have to say a big thank you!

That may not seem like a lot to a lot of people but it feels like yesterday that I was over the moon & writing my thank you for 200 followers post - a number I thought was impossible, in fact I didn't even think I'd have 50 people wanting to listen to my little rambles but hey here we are seven, no eight months later with double the amount #crazy. It just shows you that if you stick to something & put time and effort into it, it all pays off :) And that maybe, just maybe I'm doing something right in terms of posting, sort of regularly and keeping organised.

I'm nowhere near finished with the design and content of my blog, I'm just getting started really and I'm hoping it'll grow as I learn new things and grow myself. I've already starting incorporating more lifestyle posts onto my blog such as my summer playlist post [link here], home hauls and general life posts and they've received nothing but positive reviews so the odd post like that surely won't hurt in the future instead of sticking all of my eggs in one basket, what'd you think? This post actually turned out a lot longer than I thought it would be but I needed to get a lot of my chest, I guess. Please feel free to ask questions or talk to me on twitter link here, I don't bite :)

P.s let me know, would you prefer more lifestyle posts on my blog or just beauty?

Summer Playlist

5 August 2014
This is a bit of a switch up of quite a regular post 'what I've been listening to' aka loving and since it's Summer 'supposedly' I thought I'd do a specific playlist instead. Usually as soon as the suns out I've the iPod on and spend my time blaring usually upbeat music - its just warm weather protocol and these are some of the tunes that have been stuck on repeat... a lot!

Paramore // Lucy Hale // 5 Seconds of Summer // One Direction // Coldplay // Cheryl Cole // Neon Jungle // Ed Sheeran // The Vamps

I've loved Paramore for years and the song Ain't It Fun is ever so catchy, definitely my favourite of their newer album and I can't help but sing along when I hear it on the radio! Now if you read my blog regularly you'll know I'm a massive fan of Pretty Little Liars, read: its my favourite show and recently Lucy Hale who plays Aria one of the main characters released her first album so I knew I'd have to give it a listen. I was sort of expecting it to be typical pop songs but the album has more of a country vibe, think Taylor Swift circa 2007 but only more country and surprisingly I love it.

Ever since seeing 5 Seconds of Summer last spring supporting One Direction its been amazing to see them spiral grow in popularity so much - they deserve it. They recently released their new album and I'm loving the studio versions of their songs such as Heartbreak Girl, Greenlight and Amnesia as well as their more well known singles. One Directions Midnight Memories album will always be top of my playlist as I love the rockier sound and well I think we all know my love for the band. Another song that I've been liking recently is Coldplays a sky full of stars and I'm not usually the biggest Coldplay fan but its such a nice song and the video is quite cute as well.

Its nice to see Cheryl Cole again and I can't wait for her to start back on the X-factor but her new song is sooo good! Even if you don't want to like it, it will end up in your head for the rest of the day! Neon Jungle are fairly new to the music scene but I really like their newest song louder - its a bit different to their previous singles but nonetheless still good. The Vamps however I've loved for a while now, think of the youtube days and whenever I heard their album for the first time, somebody to you was definitely one of my favourites - now they're singing with Demi and when I thought it couldn't have gotten any better it has.

Lastly I've been loving Ed Sheeran's new album X or Multiply - he's one of my all time favourite artists without a doubt and theres not a song of his that I don't enjoy! I would like to say I have my favourites off the album but thats not the case. This is the one album if you haven't had a listen to, you need to, now!
